The Thomas County Public Library System strongly advocates for all efforts to promote literacy at every age. TCPLS partners with several literacy organizations that align with our mission and values.

If you are an organization that would like to partner with the Library, please call (229) 225-5252 and speak with our Library Director or email the Library Director with more information.  Partnering with us can provide your organization with a platform to promote literacy, access to our extensive resources, and opportunities to collaborate on community events.

One Book Thomas County
One Book Thomas County is South Georgia's first-ever One Book festival. Like so many cities and communities across the country, Thomas County annually devotes time and energy to reading one book together as a community and conducting various community events designed to get people excited about literacy.

Together, residents of the community read the selected book and discuss its themes in book groups and educational settings, both casual and formal. Organizations from all over the community partner to host various themed activities and events dedicated to literacy and One Book.  The celebration culminates with a visit from the selected book's authors themselves.

Literacy for Thomas County
Literacy for Thomas County is a group of civic-minded individuals working to foster a well-rounded community by promoting and supporting literacy. As a potential partner, your organization can play a crucial role in providing the children of Thomas County with the literacy resources they need to become successful and impactful in their community.
