The Thomas County Public Library System is a member of PINES, the statewide network of public library systems serving Georgia.

PINES (Public Information Network for Electronic Services) is the public library automation and lending network for 300 libraries across Georgia, provided by the Georgia Public Library Service.  PINES is a statewide “borderless library” that provides equal access to information for all Georgians.  A PINES library card provides access to materials beyond your local shelves. It opens the door to a shared collection of 11 million books and other materials that can be delivered to your home library free of charge.

PINES has been instrumental in helping local libraries across the state reduce software expenditures by approximately $10 million a year. This significant cost-saving is achieved through economies of scale and the elimination of individual automation system contracts, demonstrating the value and efficiency of the network.
