A Message from the Director

Welcome to the Thomas County Public Library System. TCPLS is a single county library system with six libraries serving the communities of Thomasville, Boston, Coolidge, Meigs, Ochlocknee and Pavo in southwest Georgia. Our mission is to provide open access to information for recreational and educational purposes and to promote lifelong learning.

I believe what makes the public library so special is that it is truly open to all. There is something at the library for everyone. It doesn’t matter who you are, what you do for a living, what your educational background is, or if you have a single dollar in your pocket- all are welcome to browse the shelves, and explore all the library has to offer from books to computer access to story times to enlightening programming.

Equal access to information is available to one and all, and can open up whole worlds to explore!

TCPLS is a PINES (Public Information Network for Electronic Services) library, ensuring even greater access to resources. PINES is Georgia’s “borderless library” system that allows PINES card holders free access to books and other materials in over 280 library branches and affiliated service locations throughout the state; delivered to your home library branch. Getting a PINES library card is easy and library staff is happy to assist you with setting up a library account! Your PINES card can open up a whole new world of literature and sense of community; not only can you check out the library’s books and movies, you can also access the Internet, download an audiobook to take with you on a road trip, access the many GALILEO recreational and educational databases, and many other services offered free of charge.

Your library is here for you, and I want to ensure we’re meeting your needs. Please let me know how we’re doing, and if there is anything we can do to enhance your experience here. Whether it’s in person, online, or on-the-go….we want to provide the best service possible!

Contact me at holly@tcpls.org, call me at 229-225-5252, or come in and let the front desk staff know you’d like to speak with the director.

Happy exploring!
